WHERE THE HELL IS MY MONEY? Thomas Auto Guelph (Ripoff Artists!)

I get a call at work from John that he has the money ready for me at the office, and that all I had to do was go in and pick it up.  He says it's better in person, so it doesn't get "lost".  I agree, and tell him I will be coming in some time during the week, in the afternoon.  So far, so good.

4 days later I am driving to Thomas Auto and I call them on the way there, to let them know I'm coming in to pick up my cheque.

"Dave" (some new guys apparently) answers the phone.  He tells me he "can't find" the cheque.  I tell him to look for some envelope, check John's desk, etc.  He says he doesn't see anything.  Apparently John is working out of the Kitchener office.  I get the number for that office and call John there.

Jonn tells me he has left CASH in an envelope, and that it's "pinned to the corkboard."

I call Dave back and tell him this new information.  Dave says he still can't find it, he tells me (GET THIS) that "someone came in a couple days ago and said that he was you, and I gave the envelope to him."

The STENCH of RIPOFF was in the air again.  Boy was I pissed.

I eventually did get re-issued the money, this time a cheque (not cash), but it was after 3 more visits, a direct conversation with the manager Harold, who accused me of either taking the money or sending someone else in to take it -- yes, flat out ACCUSED ME OF TAKING THE MONEY).

Honestly, I don't know if Dave just decided to steal the cash, if Jonn Savu has been playing me from the first phone call, or if the entire clan at Thomas Auto is a whole set of sleazy, sneaky, cunniving rip-off con-artists.

While talking to Harold, I decided to directly ask him why my first contract listed the car at $11,500 when the list price of the vehicle was originally $7900.  He tells me (in front of several witnesses) that they can change the price of the car at their whim, depending on the credit of the person buying the car, and that they do it all the time.  Maybe he takes me for a fool -- but I know this is not legal.  What a fucking jerk.

I don't know, I just know that I finally got the damned cheque for $480 (luckily, it didn't bounce).  But get this: when I picked it up, John makes me sign a piece of paper that states that I am picking up the agreed amount of $480 in the form of a cheque, and that "at this time the matter is now closed."  Of course, there WAS NO DATE on the piece of paper, making it pointless.  Shameful.  I shook my head and signed it, because if this document ever appears in court, the Judge would see right through it -- the letter is nothing but a display of "lack of faith".

So I got my money -- that's what counted.

Of course I have wasted gas money and time in several visits to their location, and have been accused of stealing by them.  I didn't deserve this shyt from them but I was tired of dealing with this and since finally getting paid by them, I just wanted to be over with dealing with these scum bags.

Maybe soon, I will launch a complaint, because I hear through the grapevine, many more people are going through the same crap that I went through, only without retribution.

For now, let Karma do it's thing.
