Futureshop -- Price Guarantee MY ASS

In the process of building my new computer system, I had my eye on the Logitech Z-2300 THX Certified 2.1 200-watt Speaker System. 

A very nice system -- crystal clear sound and heavy, HEAVY bass at your finger tips -- perfect for watching movies or playing games.

The price at Tiger Direct = $140 (CAD).

The price at FutureShop = $235 (CAD).

Big difference.  I couldn\t believe it at first.  Then I checked many other items and found that Tiger Direct SMOKES these panzies that call them selves Future Shop or their sister store, Best Buy.

Nevertheless, Future Shop and Best Buy have something called a "price guarantee" which sounded appealing to me.  Basically, the guarantee states that if you find a lower advertised price for the same item in another store, upon verification Future Shop or Best Buy will BEAT that competitor\s price by 10% of the difference.

I promptly headed across to Future Shop and asked the sales guy for the price guarantee on the Logitech Z-2300 speaker system.  He tells me that the price difference is so great, perhaps they are not the same speakers.  I assure him they are the same, and point him to the Tiger Direct website.  He spends some time checking the model numbers and the pictures.  Finally he tells me he needs to consult with his manager for approval.

His manager comes buy, checks it out, and shakes his head.  The bottom line was "No, we can\t do it" 

I ask why.  He says that the speaker systems at Tiger Direct could be refurbished or "not brand new."  I proceed to assure him that I JUST came from Tiger Direct, and that they are all brand-spanking-new on the shelf, in the store.

He then tells me that the price difference is too great, that Tiger Direct is selling their stuff far much below wholesale and that they shouldn\t be doing that.

Lastly, he tells me that because Tiger Direct is not on their "authorized dealer list" that he will not give me the price guarantee.  What gives?  The very reason I was in there in the first place, was to take advantage of their price guarantee.  I knew it was too good to be true.

There you have it. 

Future Shop's price guarantee is nothing but a heaping pile of Monkey CRAP.

My advice:  Don\t buy from Future Shop or Best Buy (same shyt) -- go to Tiger Direct instead.
