Blazin' Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Dual 2.6Ghz, 2GB PC6400 800MHz RAM, 700W PSUHere are the specs for the new system I built, all with parts from Tiger Direct. Briefly: Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Dual Core 2.6Ghz, 2GB PC6400 800MHz RAM, 700W PSU Details:
All in all, this has turned out to be a very sweet system. The Case: I got the Ultra Black tower because it comes with the 700 Watt power supply already -- it was cheaper than buying both items separate. Another nice feature is the clear side -- this is the ONLY clear-sided tower that I've seen, that comes with the INTERIOR painted (in this case, black). Case Mods: I replaced the funnel on the clear side with a blue LED illuminated case fan. I also moved the black 120mm exhaust fan from the back to the front as an intake fan, then replaced the exhaust fan with a high flowing super quiet blue LED illuminated fan.
Speakers: The Klipsche system is what I settled on, and the sound quality is just MAD. With some tweaking of the 24 bit sound card and given software, the sound these speakers emit is nothing less than spectacular.
The Monitor: This Samsung 20 inch widescreen is sweet. The high contrast and 2ms response time makes for amazing picture quality for movies and gaming. The colors are bright and vibrant.
Keyboard: This Microsoft Digital Media keybaoard is by far the best keyboard I've ever used. It's just got the right buttons, no nonsense, the buttons are quiet to type, and have just the right "touch" to them. Mouse: The Razor Diamonback is a high-precision gaming mouse given to me for my birthday (thanks Jarod and Helen!). This thing is so sensitive, I have it toned DOWN to 20% and it's STILL feels like it's on super-high sensitivity. The final touch will be an aluminum exactmat mousepad -- I believe it should enable the perfect balance with this mouse.
Needless to say, once I had everything setup on my desk and working, it was just sweetness. Oh yeah, what Operating System did I install? Windows XP Pro SP2. Why not Windows Vista ( I mean, this system can more-than handle it), you ask? Because Windows Vista Sucks like giant Hoover on steroids. But of course, that's another story, er, blog... you get the picture. Trackback [Previous Page] [Page 28 of 59] [Next Page] |
