New 1984 Pontiac Grand PrixSo I'm making payments and maintaining my 2002 black Cavalier Z24, and I like driving it... but I keep getting the urge to soup this thing up. I keep seeing nice Z24's on the road, with chrome rims, bodykits, etc.. I look up some wide deep-dish chrome wheels and tires online and find that I can actually afford to do this... but then again, I really miss my Pontiac Grand Prix. The problem is, I can't get my current 84 Grand Prix on the road because I don't have the Title of the car, which my ex-ex Jennifer is supposed to send me (for the last 3 years!). I'm sick and tired of waiting for this by now. I think to myself, instead of wasting money on the Z24, why not look for another Grand Prix? I look around online (kijiji.com, ebay, autotrader, livedeal) and I came across a few 80's Grand Prix's. I look around and finally came to this green 84 Grand Prix in Stratford. It was in great shape, came with a hopped-up 305 with a mild cam (choppy idle), true dual exhaust.... the main features that convinced me that THIS is "the one" was the fact that it had the factory T-roof (which didn't leak!), soft top (albeit, it was silver -- yuck), and bucket seats. The guy selling it was liquidating his brother's estate. He was asking $6700 with appraisal papers to back it up. I thought about it, and decided to just leave the Z24 as is, and pick up this baby. After some wheeling and dealing I got it for $4600. Insured it, licensed it, and drove the UGLY, GREEN thing home some time around the end of July 2007.
