Malicious Activity Causes Server DowntimeBoth servers at Awknet sufferred some serious downtime -- about 5 days total. Apache just kept failing, no matter what. Sql resources high. Justin checked things out and said that it's not a flood. Couldn't help get it running again. Contacted and hired ServerWizards -- apparently they can do magic. All they did was take my $75... they said "We are always working on your server, regardless of what Justin says". No response in 3 days. Bullshit. After 3 days and panicking, I did what I should have done long ago -- setup a backup server. Finally got one online with Rippleweb on April 10 (dual woodcrest, 4 cores, 4 GB RAM and 2 x 500GB harddrives), I copied over the sites and voila -- they work fine. First box with sites on it is still having problems... don't care really -- it's all about the main site, which is loading perfect now, finally. Justin and John at Awknet say they want to setup the original box to load databases off a separate box... we couldn't get it to work 3 days in -- God knows how long it will take to get it to work -- I will make sure it works 100% before switching back to this box. Total estimated loss = about $10,000.00 USD.
