Cpanel on FreeBSD 6.1 = A very BAAAD combination

I thought I was making *some* progress lately on the new server (which in an earlier post I referred to as a "server on steroids"), considering the discovery of "minor bugs" when running cpanel on FreeBSD.

Only problems were: (1) incorrect disk quotas displaying in cpanel, and (2) Imap not loading.

I actually got Imap running.. only problem was, I couldn't login to webmail through either Horde or Squirrel mail.  I openned a ticket with cpanel support with the license key (which is supposed to give me "priority response") -- that was two days ago. No response as of yet.

I used the cpanel interactive support database with no luck. I also looked through the cpanel support forums for an answer/solution -- and found many people with similar problems.  I tried all the "fixes" posted on many threads, poking around here and there through SSH, updated scripts and software and settings -- none of which worked for me.

The problem that started about 1.5 days ago was that apache keeps failing, none of my sites load.  When I reboot apache, the sites work fine -- for about 10 minutes.  Then they start to lag and lag until... apache just fails... and sends me about 500 "apache failed" messages in my inbox.

My provider's at a loss so far and I'm currently having an online partner poke around my whm.  He's made some changes and updates, we'll have to see if things are any better.  Rebooting server at the moment.

If not, my next step is to migrate all the sites (@#$&^%! again!) to a more stable operating system -- that is, one without conflicts or issues when running cpanel, like good ol' Redhat Linux.

Waiting for some results...
